OpenVZ VPS servers come with new prices and features

Furthermore, the first two packages now sport new, lower prices.

What are the new changes?

When we launched a promotion on all self-managed OpenVZ VPSs over a year ago we noticed a 30-percent rise in the number of signups. The account renewal rate was also exceptionally high.

Only a few months later we provided our OpenVZ VPS servers with an upgrade in order to make them even more competitive on the market.

As a result of the upgrade RAM allocations were increased by up to 40 percent. Furthermore – traffic quotas and SSD storage capacity grew by up to 77 and 50 percent respectively.

Our next resource upgrade is also going to affect all self-managed OpenVZ VPSs:

As you can see in the graphic above, the biggest resource boost in terms of both SSD storage and monthly traffic was directed toward the entry-level OpenVZ VPS server. And while the SSD storage grew by 50% and the monthly traffic with 70%, the price sank by 11%.

The second-level self-managed OpenVZ VPS server on the other hand received a price cut of 20%. The SSD storage quota and monthly traffic quota grew by 20% and 70% respectively.

No price change was made to the third-level self-managed OpenVZ VPS server. Nevertheless, its storage quota grew by 15% while its traffic quota went up 30%.

CPU usage in OpenVZ VPS servers now measured in CPU Cores

Another important change that we’re making is the fact that CPU utilization in OpenVZ VPS servers will no longer depend on the clock speed (GHz) – it will instead depend on the number of cores.

As a result, there is far greater flexibility when it comes to the utilization of the server’s processing power.

Furthermore – frequency limitations will seize to exist for VPS users.

This infographic will show you the number of cores each VPS has:

It’s worth noting that the first OpenVZ VPS server has received a 120% CPU usage quota boost. In comparison, the boost for the remaining plans averages 13%.

Small web applications can function flawlessly on our entry-level one-core configurations. On the other hand, our more powerful packages with multi-core CPUs are perfectly capable of handling tremendous workloads. They are the ideal solution for even the most complex web projects.
