python hostingIn view of all the feedback that we received from many web developers, we’ve decided to add a new feature to the Advanced section of your favorite Hepsia Control Panel – the Python Manager.

You can use the Python Manager to edit your current version of Python and/or to enable various Python-supported applications for your projects. The Python Manager feature is adjacent to the PHP Settings and it allows you to access multiple Python management options with a single click.

What exactly is Python?

Python is one of the most popular dynamic application development program languages. Introduced in early 1991, it has since become currently the fifth most popular language worldwide. It has a library which supports many different types of well-known Internet protocols such as: JSON, FTP, IMAP, HTML and XML.

You can find at least the following four types of Python-based software.

for web development purposes:

  • frameworks such as Django and Pyramid; micro-frameworks such as Flask and Bottle;
  • advanced content management systems such as Plone and django CMS;
  • asynchronous networking libraries like Tornado, which is perfect for long polling, WebSockets and other applications that require a long-lived connection to each user;
  • full-stack frameworks (like web2py) for rapid development of fast and portable web-based, database-driven apps;

for scientific and numerical computing purposes:

  • open-source packages like SciPy, Matplotlib and NumPy;
  • Pandas – a BSD-licensed library for high-performance data analysis and modeling;
  • iPython – a powerful command shell for easier editing and recording of work sessions that supports interactive data visualization and parallel computing;
  • Software Carpentry Course, which teaches the basics of scientific computing and provides open-access teaching materials;

for software development purposes:

  • software companies use Buildbot and Apache Gump for build, test and release processes;
  • Roundup and Trac – issue tracking and project management tools;

for system administration purposes:

  • Ansible – an easy-to-deploy IT automation engine that automates configuration management, application deployment and cloud provisioning;
  • Salt – a powerful open-source platform for IT automation and orchestration;
  • OpenStack – a high-performance computing, storage and networking platform;

You can quickly gain the necessary skills and expertise to use Python. Above all, it doesn’t matter if you’re an experienced programmer or a novice.

And if you require help or assistance, there’s a vast Python community that you can refer to. Conferences and workshops are organized on a regular basis, plus an extensive Python documentation is openly available to everyone interested. As a result, if you invest some of your time, you can quickly get familiar with this widely used application development program language and use it for your benefit.
